Controversial DPOS Network

Introduction

TRON (Ticker: TRX) is the native cryptocurrency of the TRONIC (TRON) Network. Similarly to ETH or EOS, TRON Network acts as a Decentralized Operating System.

TRON was founded by Justin Sun in China and raised $70 million via the TRON Foundation during an ICO in 2017.

Description

TRON launched an ERC20 on Ethereum after its ICO and migrated to a native blockchain later in 2018. As for EOS, it relies on a Decentralized Virtual Machine (DVM) able to execute programs directly on its Blockchain and requiring computational resources such as Bandwith and Energy to perform actions (such as transactions).

Resources are acquired on the TRON Blockchain by the process of Staking (delegating a Stake of TRON to Masternodes).

TRON released the TRON Station to calculate the amount of Energy, Bandwith and TRX rewards they can obtain daily by delegating some of their stake to Masternodes (Staking).

The use of resources make the TRON Network transaction-free. TRON is theoretically capable of processing 2000 transactions /sec.

TRON acquired the p2p file sharing company Bittorrent in 2019 and launched the BTT token on TRON Network.

Controversy

TRON has been accused of plagiarism from other projects for both its Whitepaper and pieces of its code source, notably from Ethereum and EOS. The TRON Foundation and Justin Sun always denied these accusations.

In May, 2019, the cyber-security platform HackerOne revealed that TRON was vulnerable to Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) attack and that a single computer could have saturated the whole network with a barrage of requests, overloading its CPU and RAM. The Bug has since been fixed.

Wallet and storage

TRON Official and open-source wallet is TRONSCAN
